Ivan Velasquez is a Mexican American DJ from California. Growing up listening to Latin dance music from his moms side like Merenge, Cumbias and Ragaetton ranging from artist like El General, to Luis Crespo to the old quincenera jams that got the party going. On his fathers side he was exposed to funk, disco and bands like kc and the sunshine band to the gape band to Curtis blow to music like James Brown. This whole mixture of sounds developed his taste for dance music and believes that modern day underground dance music is the by product of these classic artist and sounds. “i remember streaming Ultra Music Festival in my living room and thats when i was a EDM Fan Boy at the moment and then the stream went to the Carl Cox and Friends stage and he was Djing, i was cleaning the house i was like fuck man what is this it has me just dancing and grooving and of course he was playing fkin Techino!” falling in love quickly with the scene and grabbing hold to the Techno wave hes been hard at work trying to master his sound.
